GDC LEVELS

In order for participants to maximise their learning potential and get the most from the experience, it is vital to register for GDC in the correct level. Classes should be challenging but not overwhelming and, due to choreography content, the registered level must be determined on both age and ability; please use the level descriptions below as a guide:

Junior 8-12 years

A junior dancer must have an understanding of dance and should have experience in one or more genres. They should be able to follow instructions in a convention class environment.

Inter 11-15 years

An Inter dancer should have more than 2 years experience in one or more genres of dance. They should be confident with core vocabulary of dance movements and should be able to pick up and master new choreography over the convention

Advanced 15+ years

An advanced dancer should have at least 5 years experience in more than 1 genre of dance as this level will explore advanced technical concepts and may include more mature themes. They should be able to pick up choreography quickly and possess an ability to understand deeper levels of communication in relation to the choreography.

Dancers must only participate in classes for the level registered
